Featured on ONE FAB DAY!

OneFabDay Weddings Ireland
It’s always good to get some recognition and publicity for your work – or at least i think it is, so when I heard that One Fab Day wanted to feature both the engagement shoot and wedding shoot of Jenni and Aled I was pretty happy to say the least.

So a very special thank you to Naoise at One Fab Day for running with this.

I’ll be blogging Jenni and Aled’s wedding soon, so watch this space … or rather the space up there!:)

Kristin and Kevin (Miami Florida, USA)

Kristin and Kevin, Miami Florida (1)

As a wise man once said: “Welcome to Miami”! Okay, so maybe it wasn’t the wisest man alive, but Will Smith. But he was definitely onto something.

My first trip to the big US-of-A and a memorable journey it was. An all expenses paid trip (for 2 weeks) to photograph Kristin and Kevin’s wedding. They even threw in a an additional trip for me over to visit some friends in California. Not bad experience for 2 days of shooting some amazing pictures (if I do say so myself) of a wonderful couple!

An intimate and quaint wedding ceremony in a chapel just south of Miami. A very different experience from shooting in big Irish Catholic churches – one I am very pleased to have experienced (and I want more jobs like this)…

The ceremony was followed by a “Trash the Dress” session the following day, which kick off at the Fontaine Bleau hotel on Miami beach. So we didn’t trash the dress (unfortunately), so let’s call it the “day after shoot”. Talk about luxury accommodation, and to be honest I wouldn’t expect anything less from this lavish loving couple! When they celebrate love there’s no holding back!

I just wanted to say thank you to Kevin & Kristin for granting me this amazing opportunity – not only to travel to a new destination to shoot a wedding and have a free vacation thrown in, but also to have worked with a beautiful and amazing couple and for all the warm hospitality and making sure I had everything I needed or wanted.

An unforgettable experience …. thank you! May you be truly blessed in your marriage and have a wonderful life together!!!

Ciara & James (Malahide, Ireland)

Ciara and James – a beautiful couple in many ways! During my shoot with them I had to double take a few times thinking I was shooting Mena Suvari! James – what a great guy! he doesn’t say much – but has a gentle spirit and makes everybody feel comfortable around him.

A wonderful match and you can just see the love radiate between these two! Sparkling eyes and wide smiles! You’d think they just fell in love this morning! And you know – they probably did & will fall in love again tomorrow morning and the day after and the day after…. you get it, right?

I don’t think I need to wish them love and happiness, because it’s clear that they have it! Well, I wish it for them anyway!

Maria & Bryan (Dublin, Ireland)

I would like to dedicate this post to Bryan Coogan – a family man, a father (even to those whom werent his biological children) and a loving husband to the very end! Most weddings are about the bride and groom, but this was a family wedding in every sence of the word, and one that will ALWAYS hold sentimental value to me! I feel truly honoured to have been part of such a wonderful family event.

If any of you are familiar with my work with “Wounds” the band from Dublin, then you will already be familiar with 2 of the family members: Aidan and James. And some of you may know that James spent a long time in hospital recovering from a terrible accident when he fell about 4 floors and defying death. Short after James recovered from this terrible event, the family was given more bad news – Bryan (their father) was diagnosed with cancer.

As a sign of true love for each other, Bryan & Maria decided to finally get married while they still had time. Aidan asked me if I would photgraph their wedding and of course there was nothing more I wanted to do! Aidan and James had become dear friends of mine over the past few years and I would be absolutely honoured to photograph their parents’ wedding.

For one day this family gave their all and shared nothing but love. If each and every family could practice this for just one day in our lives, we would all be truly blessed.

Unfortunately while I was away photographing a wedding in Floria, USA – Bryan passed away. On my return, Aidan informed me that he had passed the day before. Even though I had only spent one day with Bryan I felt an immense loss, not only for me, but for the entire family! I was just extremely pleased to hear that their wedding album was received only 3 days before his death. Apparently he managed to sit up in his hospital bed to look at the album and was delighted to see it. I just wish I could have been there to experience it with him and Maria. Maria tells me that he was showing the album to the nurses as they were coming by!

I feel truly blessed and honoured to have been part of this wonderful man’s journey and to be a part of their family’s experience!

Sarah & Karol (Co. Meath, Ireland)

This is the first wedding I photographed in 2011, dating back to March. Yes, I have been very slow in updating my blog, But am currently putting in about 70 hour weeks – so please forgive me. I promise – more updates to follow soon.

If you think you are seeing double, then look again – because you probably are! Or are you? Yes, both the bride and groom are twins, who’s twin brother & sister are also married too each other AND they were the best man & maid of honour….

YOU think it’s strange? Imagine me photographing them:)What an experience! Fortunately the bride was wearing a wedding dress. The groom was a little more difficult to spot – I just had to look out for the guy holding onto his new lovely bride. Though I am sure I may have taken a few pictures of the best man thinking it was the groom. But I figured it out in time to grab some lovely photos of the newly weds and the bridal party AND in the right configurations.

Another beautiful couple celebrating their beautiful wedding day in true style: filled with joy, happiness, excitement and nothing but love!

I sincerely wish Sarah and Karol (and family) nothing but happiness and success for all their years that lie ahead!

Claire & Barry (Dublin Ireland)

This post has long been coming. It’s the last wedding I photographed in 2010.

Claire & Barry, what can I say? Another lovely couple I had the priviledge of photographing their wedding day! In Ireland sunny days are few (specially toward the end of teh year), but they (and I) were truly blessed with plenty of sunshine.

As you will see it was a day filled with love and happiness and I wish them all of the best in the lives together as they watch the years roll by and grow closer together!

Jenni & Aled Engagement Shoot – Rock ‘n Roll Style (Dublin, Ireland)

Jenni and Aled ……

ROCK
‘n
ROLL

Amazing couple and brilliant individuals. One crazy Welshman and an absolutely insane Irish lass = one heck of a beautiful (though barking mad) couple in many ways! This definitely wasn’t your typical engagment shoot, but then again they aren’t your run of the mill kind of people! I must say we had so much fun shooting them and I can’t wait to photograph their “L O V E” themed wedding in June!

Lorraine and Cathal (Co. Roscommon, Ireland)

Lorraine and Cathal had a beautiful wedding on a beautiful day. Driving to Co. Rosscommon we encountered terribly heavy rain and thought we would be in for a challenging day. As soon as we arrived the clouds opened and gave way to beautiful blue skies – a perfect day for a wonderful wedding and beautiful pictures.

Congratulations! May you have a wonderful future together!

Jane and Marius – After Wedding Party (Dublin, Ireland)

Oh what an amazing couple!!! We just wished we could also have photographed them on their wedding day in South Africa. Fortunately they asked us to photograph their wedding party for friends and family who couldn’t make it to the wedding in South Africa. You can see more of their actual wedding pictures taken by a great photographer, Jani Breedt.

We’ll be photographing Claire’s (Jane’s sister) wedding in October and are really looking forward to working with them.
