From Russia with Love to Fuengirola
– Malaga | Spain –
A beautiful day with a beautiful couple “From Russia with Love to Fuengirola | Malaga, Spain”. Though they got married in Russia, they decided to come to Spain’s Costa del Sol known for it’s it’s unique beach scenery and sunshine most of the year round, to capture their wedding photos. So in fact this more of a “trash the dress” (day after) type of shoot, even taking into account that the bride was very careful with her dress and no dresses or people were harmed in the making of these photographs.
I was asked by a fellow photographer to assist her on this shoot and of course I wouldn’t let an opportunity slip by to photograph a wedding, even if not the complete wedding – I love photographing wedding portraits and couple shots. Some times it’s good being the second shooter – which means less responsibility, allowing me to try new things: new angles, points of view, focus ranges and even the post production editing.
Being fairly new in Malaga ( and in Spain) this was my first opportunity to shoot a wedding on the coast and was delighted to take photos at some previously researched locations. To the untrained eye the port may look a drab and messy in places, but I loved these blue doors which would give a more graphic feel to the pictures, so it was the first stop on our shoot.
Then of course a beach shoot is a must! A few weeks before I “discovered” a small secluded beach set between two rock and was dying to do a couple in shoot there. So naturally when this opportunity arose this location was top of the list, but the timing and lighting had to be just right.
I love location scouting and it’s important to have a good list of options – something to suit every couple’s wedding, but I think both these locations will stay on my Fuengirola Wedding Photography Location List.
